New Britannica Beta

The new Britannica Online website has a new website design and using Web 2.0 applications. I can now finally use Britannica without having to suffer from looking at the old design.

This new design is easy on the eyes and easy to read. The articles are now ‘clean’; it quickly delivers the information you request, there’s no clutter and it isn’t jam-packed with small hyperlinks and text on the site. Britannica has also made the right move by changing the font. Text is now much easier and more pleasant to read. The font size is constant throughout the website, whereas the old design had different font sizes and you don’t know which is what or what is which. Britannica Online has followed basic design principles, well done!

Two new pages added

Yesterday, I’ve added two new pages to the site. The first page is the RSS News Feeds. It’s not exciting at all, I just wanted to test out and have Web 2.0 applications on my site. It was very easy to install and it didn’t take long to edit. The second page is about web links. I thought it would be time to share some of the world’s best links. I’m still in the process of collecting data, which will take a while. I’m going to have to go through years and years of my bookmarks.

New Wishlist page

I now have a new wishlist page! It’s located at: http://wishlisting.com/person/davtra. Hopefully the service will be reliable in future. It’s currently down, which is annoying because I can’t update my stuff. The error message is ‘Proxy Error’. Once it’s up, you should give it a try. I love it!

Happy New Year everyone! For the first time in my life, I have made a list of goals and hopefully I will get them all ticked off before 2009. Cities around the world will have to clean up or kick out their local drunks. Last year on New Year’s Eve, about 130 drunks/people were arrested in Adelaide City; I wonder how many this time…
