A big mess …

Sunday, August 30th, 2009. Posted in General | No Comments »

I have a draft proposal due on 2 September 2009. I have not completed my draft yet. I am working hard, but I have little time to finish my readings. I am writing something about the linear sand dunes in the Simpson Desert. No one knows how these sand dunes were formed. The problem is that there are like 10,000 hypotheses about the formation of linear sand dunes. Another problem is that there are like 10,000 professional academics attacking (in a very nice way), rejecting, and accepting each others theories. It is a big mess, and it is almost like politics (or maybe it is a form of politics). Nonetheless, I have a couple of days to complete my draft proposal.

Going on camp

In a few weeks time I will be off camping at the Flinders Ranges. It is a six hour drive (according to my course coordinator) from Adelaide to our destination. We will stay there for four nights. I will do my best to take at least 200 photographs per day. I need to upload photographs to Flickr because I paid for my account. I will need to do as much as I can on Flickr before my account expires early next year.

I predict the cost of this camp will cost $500 (or more) for my gear. My parents will subsidy my costs … how very nice of them.
